Michelle grew up on a dairy farm in rural Connecticut. Her father, a fourth-generation farmer, taught her about loving and respecting the land, and giving back to the community. Hard work was ingrained in her from an early age. She would help her grandmother feed the dairy calves each morning before school began. Her love of farming and organics sprouted from her seasonal planting, tending, and harvesting of her family’s gardens.
James grew up getting his hands dirty in the hardscrabble soil on Long Island. He worked the family gardens beginning as soon as he could reliably hold a shovel. After his childhood, he moved to Atlanta and started Floral Park as a wholesale flower destination. His sense of design and business experience helps drive Floral Park Market today.
